The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkins throws a shot from downtown. Stark moves away and avoids it.
Hawkins throws a lazy uppercut
and Stark counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Stark defending well as Hawkins loads up on a big left hand.
Stark throws an overhand right that lands on Hawkins's shoulder, as Hawkins tries to avoid the shot.
Gabriel Stark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hawkins just misses with a punch to the body.
Stark ducks under a wild hook from Hawkins.
Hawkins throws a hook but Stark avoids it easily.
Hawkins defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stark.

Hawkins might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Stark connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hawkins. Hawkins circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Stark throws a looping overhand right but Hawkins ducks down to avoid it.
The crowd cheers as Hawkins lands an impressive looking overhand right. Stark doesn't seem phased though.

Hawkins lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hawkins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stark is fending him off so far but Hawkins persists. Nope, Stark circles away and we're back to standing.

Hawkins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stark manages to avoid it.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Stark enables Hawkins to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stark manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Stark throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hawkins escapes and throws Stark's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Stark manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Stark controlling the position for now.
Stark is refusing to be controlled, as Hawkins sits in half guard.
Stark looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Hawkins is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Stark!
Hawkins looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Hawkins is landing with some decent strikes but Stark is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Hawkins pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The referee warns Stark that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hawkins is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Stark tries to lock up and control but Hawkins gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Stark is desperately trying to improve his position but Hawkins has a good base and remains in mount.

Stark is in all sorts of trouble here.
Hawkins postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Stark badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Hawkins around the waist but Hawkins pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Hawkins is the winner by TKO! Hawkins jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jonathan Hawkins!
A very excited looking Jonathan Hawkins made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
