Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Lui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Duggan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duggan has chosen HOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeffrey Lui! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Duggan! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duggan dodges the punch combination from Lui.
Duggan tries a head kick but it misses.
Lui shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Duggan looking for submissions off his back. Lui slows the pace down in half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lui lands a nice short elbow. Lui passes into side control, despite Duggan's attempt to control the position.
Duggan tries to improve position but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Duggan misses with a strike from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duggan is looking for a sweep. Lui remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Duggan tries to improve position but can't. Lui is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Lui advances to mount. Duggan tries to lock up and control but Lui gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Duggan might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lui kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Duggan manages to regain half guard. Good work. Lui prevents Duggan from improving his position. Lui is controlling the pace.
Lui has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Duggan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Lui preventing the sweep.

Lui not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Duggan throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Duggan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lui! Duggan has control of Lui's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lui regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Duggan lands a nice shot to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lui is desperately trying to improve his position but Duggan has a good base and remains in mount. Duggan goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Lui is on top in guard.

Lui gets caught flat footed, as Duggan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Duggan wants to get up but he can't break Lui's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Duggan stands and steps away. Lui gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Lui looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Duggan looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Duggan flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lui is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Lui stops Duggan from getting back to his feet.

Jeffrey Lui dominated that second round. That's time! Lui's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Duggan closes the distance and clinches up with Lui, looking for a takedown. Duggan pushes Lui against the cage but Lui circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Lui changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Lui connects with a body shot. Duggan on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Lui closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lui lands in his opponent's guard. Duggan is striking off his back. Lui thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Jeffrey Lui overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Duggan strikes from the bottom but Lui passes into mount!

And that's the end of the fight! Jeffrey Lui showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lui, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
