Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chapa Coco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Fitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fitch has chosen Born in the USA as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chapa Coco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ron Fitch!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coco gets the takedown into side control.
Coco working the head and body with strikes.
Coco creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Fitch has one of Coco's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Coco tries to score with some ground and pound. Fitch controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fitch is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Coco throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Coco cracks Fitch with a big right hand but Fitch just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Fitch struggling a bit here.
Coco lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Fitch is looking to reverse the position.
Fitch is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Coco thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Fitch really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Coco is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fitch knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Fitch tries to escape but Coco is in control.

Fitch is working to avoid the ground and pound but Coco connects with a decent elbow.

Fitch takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The strikes coming from Coco are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Fitch takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
You can see the frustration on Fitch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Coco wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fitch keeps working.
Coco connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Fitch some visible discomfort.
Coco in side control lands a decent elbow.
Fitch is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Coco asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Fitch looks gassed!
An elbow from Coco crashes against the mat.
The ground and pound from Coco seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Coco is looking to take a break and control but Fitch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fitch is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Coco's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Coco prevents Fitch from standing back up.

Coco wants to take a breather but Fitch is having none of it.

Coco is keen to just control but Fitch is a slippery customer.

Fitch tries to roll over but Coco keeps him under control.
Coco looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fitch with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Fitch is not content to let Coco control the position.
Fitch wants to improve his position but Coco is controlling well.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Coco seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fitch does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Coco throwing shots but Fitch is blocking nicely.

Coco drops an elbow to the side of Fitch's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coco manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Fitch is stalling here. Coco is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Fitch seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Coco has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Fitch is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Coco off and has taken his back!

Coco manages to reverse the position and now he's in Fitch's guard. Nice work there by Coco.

Fitch working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Coco doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Coco manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Coco stands up over Fitch, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Coco is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fitch can do to turn this around?

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Coco accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Coco has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Fitch defend it? Coco steps over the head and cranks it - Fitch is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Coco!
