Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Staton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephan Evurts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Staton comes to the cage accompanied by Puff, The Magic Dragon. Evurts has chosen Welcome to the Jungle as his entrance music. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evurts dives in and grabs Staton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Staton pushes down on Evurts's head and hops out.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Evurts is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Evurts is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Staton is controlling him.
Staton's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Staton takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Evurts throws a sloppy head kick and Staton moves out of range easily.

Evurts gets caught flat footed, as Staton shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Staton stays in close to Evurts's body and controls the position.

Evurts throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Staton.

Staton throws an overhand right that lands on Evurts's shoulder, as Evurts tries to avoid the shot.
Evurts looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Staton is fending him off so far but Evurts persists. Nope, Staton circles away and we're back to standing.
Stephan Evurts is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Evurts takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Staton shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Staton showed some decent athleticism there.

Staton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Evurts's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Evurts not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Evurts has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Staton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Staton not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Staton won't allow Evurts to get back to his feet.
Staton slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Staton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
