The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montabekko fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Shachar shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Shachar is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Montabekko trying to control from the bottom.
Shachar thows a huge punch but Montabekko dodges it nicely.
Shachar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Montabekko's head.
Shachar is trying to control. Montabekko wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Montabekko manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Montabekko stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Russell Shachar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shachar shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Montabekko is trying to defend but Shachar finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Montabekko slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Montabekko pulls Shachar in to control the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shachar would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Shachar sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Montabekko's guard.
Montabekko is controlling Shachar's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Shachar is pressing down on Montabekko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Montabekko is holding on for now.
Montabekko is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Shachar's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Shachar's back!
Montabekko is cranking Shachar's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Shachar! He's tightened the choke and Shachar is tapping out!
