Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rick Ramirez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rick Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasputin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ramirez.
Ramirez slaps away a takedown attempt from Rasputin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ramirez cracks Rasputin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Rasputin fails to land the takedown.
Rasputin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ramirez quickly recovers to half guard.
Rasputin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Ramirez pushes Rasputin off looking to stand but Rasputin dives back in and keeps control.

Rasputin slips a nice elbow through Ramirez's hands, connecting with Ramirez's forehead.

Ramirez has hold of Rasputin's hands but Rasputin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Rasputin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Rasputin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rasputin wants to control from the top but Ramirez keeps moving.

Ramirez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rasputin is proving hard to escape from.

Ramirez tries to get to full guard but Rasputin has control of the leg.

Rasputin tries to clinch up but Ramirez circles away and keeps his distance.
Rasputin shoots in looking for a takedown. Ramirez tries to sprawl out of it but Rasputin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ramirez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Piotr Rasputin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rasputin is pushing down on Ramirez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ramirez is fighting to maintain full guard but Rasputin has managed to sneak the leg through.
Piotr Rasputin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rasputin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
