Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Adam Falcon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shamus McDermid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDermid has chosen The Drunken Scotsman - The Irish Rovers as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McDermid creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Falcon's defenses.
Falcon is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

Falcon is trying to maintain a safe position but McDermid gets an underhook and turns Falcon into the ropes.
Falcon has had enough of the clinch but McDermid keeps him there for the moment.

Falcon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McDermid fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Falcon.
Falcon throws an overhand right that lands on McDermid's shoulder, as McDermid tries to avoid the shot.
Falcon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McDermid moves away.
McDermid lands with a nice body punch.

McDermid takes the fight into the clinch.
McDermid keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Falcon's efforts to push away.
McDermid creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Falcon's defenses.

A relieved looking Shamus McDermid thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
