Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Will Vieira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thadeu Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vieira shoots in but Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Vieira looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there.
Vieira utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vieira can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Silva controls the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Silva drives through with a takedown into guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Thadeu Silva wasn't active enough on the ground.
Vieira tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Silva forces Vieira back against the cage and clinches.
The referee is keeping an eye on Silva - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Vieira has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silva avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Will Vieira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vieira is working for takedown but Silva is calmly controlling the position for now.
Vieira tries to pull guard but Silva holds him up against the cage and eventually Vieira drops back down to his feet.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vieira gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Vieira drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Vieira off! Vieira jumps back into Silva's guard.

Silva stuffs the takedown attempt from Vieira. Vieira gets slowly back to his feet.
Vieira tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vieira is on top in guard.

Silva has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vieira doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vieira manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Silva is pulling down on Vieira's head. It's preventing any offense from Vieira, at least for the moment.
Vieira throws a big right hand that misses.
Vieira is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Vieira drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silva dives on top into guard.
