Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Karim Chamakh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rosco P Coltrane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chamakh comes into the arena with Immortal - Unearthly Kingdom blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Coltrane's choice of entrance music: Bleed. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Karim Chamakh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rosco P Coltrane!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coltrane attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Chamakh fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Chamakh uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Coltrane.
Coltrane tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Chamakh paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Coltrane tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Chamakh is able to avoid easily.

Coltrane throws a lazy right hand but Chamakh sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Chamakh has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Chamakh shoots in but no luck this time.
Coltrane fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Nice uppercut there from Coltrane.
Chamakh avoids the body shot from Coltrane.

Coltrane ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chamakh moves away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Coltrane looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Chamakh shoots in looking for a takedown but Coltrane manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chamakh's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

You can see the frustration on Coltrane's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Chamakh throws a strike aimed at the side of Coltrane's head but Coltrane avoids it well.
Coltrane parries the strikes from Chamakh easily there. Chamakh is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Coltrane to escape.
Chamakh misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Coltrane is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Chamakh fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Coltrane sprawls well initially but Chamakh persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Coltrane won't allow Chamakh to pass to mount.
Chamakh looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Coltrane with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Chamakh is taking a breather. Coltrane says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Coltrane regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Chamakh.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chamakh connects with a nice short shot to Coltrane's temple.
