Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dresden Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marshall Erickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dresden Cooper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marshall Erickson! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - Cooper throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Erickson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Erickson is trying to get an arm triangle but Cooper is defending well. Cooper is trying to get back to half guard. Erickson tries for a kimura but Cooper is defending well. Cooper is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Erickson takes a little break here. Cooper wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cooper wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Cooper tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Erickson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Erickson decides to take the fight back to the feet. Cooper throws a sloppy head kick and Erickson moves out of range easily. Cooper with a poor takedown and Erickson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cooper's guard. Erickson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Cooper throws a head kick but Erickson moves out of range.
Erickson has managed to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Erickson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cooper with a poor takedown and Erickson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cooper's guard now. Cooper is breathing heavily. Erickson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Cooper trying to keep a closed guard but Erickson is proving a slippery customer.
Erickson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Erickson pushing down on Cooper's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cooper tries to roll over but Erickson keeps him under control. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Erickson in particular looking to stall. Cooper wants to improve his position but Erickson is controlling well.
Erickson escapes and gets back to his feet. Erickson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Erickson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Erickson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Erickson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Erickson happy to just control the position for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Erickson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cooper has escaped the position, nice work there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cooper shoots in and drives through. Erickson sprawls well. Erickson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Cooper! Erickson landing strikes, looking to finish! Erickson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Erickson working the ground and pound effectively.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Erickson looking to control and managing it successfully. Erickson get's back to his feet. Erickson gets a double leg takedown into Cooper's guard. Cooper looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Cooper tries to strike from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Erickson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Erickson won't allow Cooper to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Erickson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Cooper keeping full guard, as Erickson tries to pass. Erickson advances to half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Well, if Erickson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cooper wants to get back to full guard. Cooper makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cooper. Erickson lands a couple of elbows. Erickson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Erickson misses with a head kick.

Cooper misses with a takedown attempt and Erickson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Erickson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Erickson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Erickson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Erickson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Cooper's shoulder. That is not cool. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Erickson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Cooper! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marshall Erickson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Erickson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Erickson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Cooper tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Erickson manages to move to mount!

That's one minute gone in the round. Cooper tries to reverse the position but Erickson maintains control. Erickson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Erickson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Erickson lands a nice shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Erickson. Erickson controlling the pace for now. Erickson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Erickson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cooper is looking to improve his position but Erickson isn't that keen on the idea.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Erickson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Cooper moves in looking to clinch but Erickson pushes him off. Erickson stuffs the takedown attempt from Cooper. Cooper gets slowly back to his feet. Erickson gets the takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Erickson stands up. Erickson motions for Cooper to come forward. Erickson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Dresden Cooper has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Erickson looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Erickson drops back looking for a leg! Cooper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cooper manages to kick Erickson off! Erickson jumps back into Cooper's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Marshall Erickson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Erickson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
