Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryron Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones 's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, P.O.D - Boom. Thomas has chosen Five Finger Death Punch - Bad Company as his entrance music. Jon Jones had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jones keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Jones moves out of range of the body kick.
Jones misses with a low kick.
Thomas throws a nice outside leg kick.
Thomas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.
Thomas throws a right and a left that Jones avoids nicely.
Thomas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones fails with a takedown attempt.
Thomas throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Thomas is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jones is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Thomas to the mat. Thomas regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Thomas is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thomas manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Thomas's guard.
Jones is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Thomas is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Thomas has escaped and now he's on top!
Thomas throws a big right hand that misses.
Thomas is looking to advance position but Jones has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Jones looking for a guillotine from mount but Thomas is having none of it.
Jones looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Thomas keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jones fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones has control of Thomas's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Thomas regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jones is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Thomas has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Thomas!

Bryron Thomas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Thomas is pressed up against the cage. Jones has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Thomas down to the mat. Thomas avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
