Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eg Por Kvartir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshii Akiyama! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Por Kvartir tries to sprawl but Akiyama drives through with a takedown into half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Por Kvartir is not content to let Akiyama control the position. Akiyama content to control rather than advance. Por Kvartir is refusing to be controlled, as Akiyama sits in half guard. Akiyama is looking to advance position but Por Kvartir won't allow it.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Yoshii Akiyama wasn't active enough on the ground. Por Kvartir stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Por Kvartir wants it to stay on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Akiyama is defended easily by Por Kvartir. Akiyama moves into the clinch. Por Kvartir misses with a knee to the head. Akiyama wants to break free but Por Kvartir has control.

Akiyama has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Por Kvartir avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Eg Por Kvartir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshii Akiyama. Akiyama has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Por Kvartir uses from the top position. Por Kvartir would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akiyama is controlling Por Kvartir's posture. Akiyama manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Por Kvartir manages to get himself to full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Yoshii Akiyama hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Por Kvartir tries to clinch up but Akiyama circles away and keeps his distance. Por Kvartir moves out of range of the body kick. Akiyama shoots in and drives through. Por Kvartir sprawls well. Akiyama shoots in for a takedown but Por Kvartir shows good takedown defense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Akiyama shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Akiyama not landing any meaningful shots this time. Akiyama passes to side control. Akiyama fails to land a wild elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yoshii Akiyama dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Akiyama fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Por Kvartir avoids it really well and circles away. Akiyama will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Por Kvartir fails with the takedown. Akiyama looks to land a combination. Por Kvartir sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Akiyama dives in and grabs Por Kvartir's left leg, looking for a takedown. Por Kvartir pushes down on Akiyama's head and hops out. Eg Por Kvartir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshii Akiyama. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Por Kvartir throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Akiyama blocks it with crossed arms. Akiyama jumps guard but Por Kvartir turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Akiyama. Akiyama breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Akiyama tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Akiyama dives in and grabs Por Kvartir's left leg, looking for a takedown. Por Kvartir pushes down on Akiyama's head and hops out. Akiyama is breathing heavily. Akiyama looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Akiyama gets a takedown into half guard. Por Kvartir looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akiyama decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Akiyama shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Por Kvartir pinned against the cage. Por Kvartir gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Akiyama clinches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akiyama tries to pull guard but Por Kvartir forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Por Kvartir with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Por Kvartir connects with a nasty looking knee right to Akiyama's face.

Still in the clinch, Akiyama scores with a nice short uppercut. Akiyama has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Por Kvartir is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Por Kvartir throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Akiyama blocks it with crossed arms. Akiyama is looking to control Por Kvartir's arms but Por Kvartir gets an underhook and turns him. Now Akiyama has his back to the cage. Akiyama tries a body shot but Por Kvartir blocks it.

Akiyama's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Akiyama fails with a takedown attempt from distance. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Akiyama takes the fight into the clinch. Akiyama pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yoshii Akiyama showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Akiyama shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Por Kvartir pinned against the cage. Por Kvartir gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Por Kvartir throws a knee to the head but misses.
Akiyama turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Por Kvartir is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Akiyama asserts his dominance and retains side control. Por Kvartir prevents Akiyama from improving position. Akiyama trying to control the action but Por Kvartir is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Yoshii Akiyama comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Akiyama has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
