Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Popper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mel Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Popper looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Popper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mel Gray! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gray misses with the combination.
Gray cracks Popper with an uppercut from hell and Popper crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Gray's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Popper is rocked! Gray tries to free his leg and advance position but Popper is retaining full guard. Oh Popper is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Gray drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gray jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gray postures up in Popper's guard and throws a big left but Popper blocks it. Popper seems to have got his legs back now. Popper is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Popper looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Gray has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Popper is breathing heavily. Gray working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Popper holds on and takes a little breather. Gray drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gray jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Popper looking to control.
Gray is looking to stand up but Popper won't let him. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Popper holds on and takes a little breather. Popper trying to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Good exchange - Gray coming out on top. Popper takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gray swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Popper. Gray connects with a stiff jab that staggers Popper - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mel Gray!
