Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Evan Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Corey Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes to the cage accompanied by Willie Nelson - Whiskey River . I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evan Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Corey Jr! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Chad Campbell and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams moves into the clinch. Corey Jr wants a takedown but no success here.

Corey Jr is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Williams to keep the fight standing. Williams tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Corey Jr's elbow. Williams putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Corey Jr in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Corey Jr drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Corey Jr jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Williams walks away with a smile on his face. Corey Jr gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Corey Jr uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Williams. Williams lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams jabs Corey Jr to the body, keeping him at a distance. Corey Jr tries for a takedown but Williams sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Williams scores with a shot to the body.
Corey Jr is trying hard to land a takedown here. Williams sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Williams fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Corey Jr checks it well. Williams scores with a kick to the body.
Evan Williams is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Williams buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Williams lands with a nice body punch. Williams throws a chopping leg kick but Corey Jr manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Corey Jr tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Williams connects with a leg kick. Corey Jr looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Williams throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Williams throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Williams moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Corey Jr uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Williams.

Williams is looking to wear down Corey Jr with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Williams checks a leg kick. Williams connects with a body shot that sends Corey Jr's belly button to the back. Williams throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Williams attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Corey Jr displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Williams throws out the jab. Williams will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Corey Jr is trying desperately to land a takedown but Williams is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Corey Jr. Corey Jr does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams blocks a leg kick. Both fighters circling a little - Williams finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Corey Jr avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Corey Jr throws a shot from downtown. Williams moves away and avoids it. Corey Jr tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Williams misses with a hook. Corey Jr ducked under it nicely. Corey Jr misses with a low kick. Williams fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Williams tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Corey Jr was well out of range. Poor timing from Williams. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Corey Jr checks a low kick from Williams. Corey Jr ducks under a wild hook from Williams. Corey Jr takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Williams keeping moving, preventing Corey Jr from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref stands the fighters back up because Evan Williams just wasn't active enough. Williams is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Williams takes a swing at Corey Jr's ribcage but misses. Williams tries to get to full guard but Corey Jr has control of the leg. Williams is pressing down on Corey Jr's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Corey Jr thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Corey Jr working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Williams is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Corey Jr drops back looking for a leg! Williams is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Williams manages to kick Corey Jr off! Corey Jr jumps back into Williams's guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Williams is controlling Corey Jr's posture. Corey Jr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard. Corey Jr throwing strikes but missing. Williams is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We're going to have a standup here because Evan Williams wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Corey Jr throws out a leg kick but Williams moves out of range and Corey Jr only half commits. Corey Jr shoots in but no luck this time. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Corey Jr avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Williams jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Williams scores with a kick to the midsection. Williams with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

and Corey Jr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Williams won't be happy with that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Corey Jr tries for a kimura but Williams is defending well. Williams tries to bench press Corey Jr off him but Corey Jr keeps the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Corey Jr landing a few strikes. Williams tries to improve position but can't. Williams struggling a bit here. Corey Jr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Williams is looking for a sweep.

Williams is looking to regain half guard here but Corey Jr keeps moving and retains side control. Williams wants to control but Corey Jr postures up. How rude!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Corey Jr wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Williams, who protects the arm well. You can see the frustration on Williams's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Corey Jr tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Corey Jr has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Williams is looking for a sweep. Williams is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Corey Jr's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Williams wants to improve his position but Corey Jr is controlling well.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Evan Williams. I think Williams has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
