Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyov Kirijenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fu Manchu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manchu has chosen La donna e Mobile as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Fu Manchu! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kirijenko looks to score with a jab to the body but Manchu is just out of range. A telegraphed right hand from Manchu misses the target. Manchu throws an overhand right that lands on Kirijenko's shoulder, as Kirijenko tries to avoid the shot. Kirijenko scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Kirijenko misses with a body shot.

and Kirijenko counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Kirijenko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Manchu's waist but Manchu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kirijenko off to one side. Kirijenko fakes the leg kick and cracks Manchu in the body. Kirijenko is trying hard to land a takedown here. Manchu sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Manchu checks the leg kick. Manchu avoids a kick to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kirijenko shoots in looking for a takedown. Manchu tries to sprawl out of it but Kirijenko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Manchu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyov Kirijenko. so Kirijenko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Manchu wants to sweep here but Kirijenko controlling him for the moment. Kirijenko throwing strikes from guard but Manchu blocks nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kirijenko slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kirijenko postures up in Manchu's guard and throws a big left but Manchu blocks it. Kirijenko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Manchu is keeping the position for now. Manchu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kirijenko looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Manchu wants to sweep but no luck. Kirijenko in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. The fight moves into the clinch position. Manchu swings wildly with an uppercut but Kirijenko uses good head movement to avoid it. A shot in the inside from Manchu. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Manchu swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Lyov Kirijenko dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Manchu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kirijenko dips to his left and cracks Manchu with an uppercut! Kirijenko throws out a leg kick but Manchu moves out of range and Kirijenko only half commits. Manchu scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Manchu walks into a straight right hand from Kirijenko. Manchu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kirijenko is looking to wear down Manchu with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Manchu misses with a hook to the body
and Kirijenko counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Manchu's guard now. Kirijenko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Manchu looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Manchu seems keen to control Kirijenko's posture. Manchu working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kirijenko. Manchu looking for a sweep. Not yet Manchu, not yet. Manchu can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kirijenko controls the pace.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kirijenko scores with a hook to the body. Manchu takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. A jab from Manchu misses. Kirijenko throws a body punch but Manchu moves out of range. Manchu keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Kirijenko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Manchu circles away quickly and effectively. Kirijenko ducks under a wild hook from Manchu. Kirijenko misses with a looping left. Manchu misses with a jab to the body
and Kirijenko counters with a right hand to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kirijenko scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Kirijenko throws a solid leg kick but Manchu takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kirijenko. A big left from Manchu misses. Manchu pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Manchu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kirijenko paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kirijenko scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Kirijenko tries to advance to mount but Manchu denies him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manchu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kirijenko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kirijenko controlling from side mount. Manchu is looking for a sweep. Manchu is trying to escape the position but Kirijenko is controlling the position. Kirijenko's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Kirijenko has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kirijenko is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kirijenko bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Manchu's head backwards. Kirijenko misses with a body kick. Kirijenko displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Manchu throws out the jab. Kirijenko slips a straight right by Manchu. Lyov Kirijenko is winning the standup battle so far. Manchu misses with a left hand and Manchu takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Kirijenko throws a low kick but Manchu avoids it. Manchu throws a poor cross that misses
and Kirijenko counters with a stiff right hand. Kirijenko uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Manchu. Manchu misses with a wild body shot. Kirijenko tries to keep at a distance but Manchu has taken the fight into the clinch. A head punch on the inside from Manchu fails to land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirijenko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Manchu cracks Kirijenko with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Manchu takes a swing at Kirijenko's ribcage but misses. Kirijenko shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kirijenko showed some decent athleticism there. Manchu wants to control but Kirijenko is keeping busy.
Manchu won't allow Kirijenko to pass to mount. Lyov Kirijenko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Manchu keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Kirijenko trying to control the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kirijenko with a body punch. A glancing blow. Fu Manchu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kirijenko looking to score a takedown here. Manchu is defending well but Kirijenko drives through and ends up in Manchu's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kirijenko wants to control from the top but Manchu keeps moving. Manchu is pulling down on Kirijenko's head. It's preventing any offense from Kirijenko, at least for the moment. Kirijenko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manchu wants to sweep but no luck. Kirijenko scores with a decent looking elbow strike. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Manchu can do anything to dispel that myth. Kirijenko looking to pass the guard. Kirijenko won't allow Manchu to sweep him here. Kirijenko forces his way into half guard. Well, if Kirijenko is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kirijenko is looking to take a break and control but Manchu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Manchu is trying to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Manchu is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Kirijenko thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Manchu keeping hold of Kirijenko's head, controlling as best he can. Kirijenko takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A jab from Kirijenko misses. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kirijenko misses with a body shot.

And that's the end of the fight! Lyov Kirijenko showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kirijenko, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
