Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Blake Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Just (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Blake Nash! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Just! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nash throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Just is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nash throws a big shot that misses. Nash shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. No luck with that takedown attempt from Just. Just shoots in but no luck this time. Nash cracks Just with a right hand to the side of the head. Nice cross by Just. Nash is looking to slow Just down with leg kicks. Nash showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Just.
Just shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nash sprawls well. Nash wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Just gets slowly back to his feet. Blake Nash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Just. Nash scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nash keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Nash slaps away a takedown attempt from Just, before circling back to the center of the mat. A punch lands to the side of Just 's head but he takes it in his stride. Just misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nash.
Just keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Just has a takedown stuffed. Blake Nash is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. No joy there for Just, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nash connects with a leg kick. Just looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Nash thows a body shot but no joy. Just feints and as Nash raises his hands in defense, Just changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Just tries to free his leg and advance position but Nash is retaining full guard. Nash has control of Just's left arm, preventing Just from doing any damage. Nash throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Nash looking for a sweep. Not yet Nash, not yet. Nash is working hard here to advance position. Just thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Just drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Just as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Nash screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Just! Nice submission victory there!
