The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hilkuri swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The fight stays on the outside here - Koira looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hilkuri uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Koira.
Hilkuri tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Koira takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
The fighters circling - Koira throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Koira shoots for a double leg takedown but Hilkuri sprawls well. He's pushed Koira's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hilkuri lands a big head kick that sends Koira tumbling to the mat! Hilkuri takes a step backwards and waves Koira back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Koira seems to have recovered his senses.

Koira fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hilkuri avoids it really well and circles away.
Pentti Hilkuri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kulku Koira.
Hilkuri is looking to land body kicks.
Koira on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A nice inside leg kick there by Hilkuri. That's going to slow Koira down.

Koira is trying desperately to land a takedown but Hilkuri is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Koira.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Koira throws an overhand right that lands on Hilkuri's shoulder, as Hilkuri tries to avoid the shot.

Koira clinches up against the cage.

Hilkuri breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Koira counters with a straight right hand.

Koira walks into a straight right hand from Hilkuri.
Hilkuri jabs Koira right on the nose. Koira blinks but takes it well.
Decent striking displayed by Hilkuri there.
Hilkuri lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Koira is looking to close the distance but Hilkuri sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Koira crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Koira is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
