Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, jt Wash! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rodrigo Grudzinski! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grudzinski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wash sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Grudzinski somewhat. Grudzinski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wash pinned against the cage. Wash gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A head kick misses from Grudzinski. Grudzinski shoots for a double leg takedown but Wash sprawls well. He's pushed Grudzinski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. jt Wash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodrigo Grudzinski. Grudzinski lands a jab. Grudzinski throws a leg kick but Wash checks it. Grudzinski connects with a nice looking jab.
Wash tries for a takedown but Grudzinski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Grudzinski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wash's waist but Wash gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Grudzinski off to one side. Wash really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wash scores with a shot to the body.
Wash shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Wash wants to stand but Grudzinski is controlling his posture from full guard. Grudzinski will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Grudzinski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wash circles away quickly and effectively. The fight moves into the clinch position. Wash fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Wash looks to score with a jab to the body but Grudzinski is just out of range. Wash tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Grudzinski manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Wash is looking to clinch but Grudzinski is avoiding it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Grudzinski misses with a low kick. Nice takedown defense from Grudzinski. No joy for Wash on that attempt. That was a close second round but I would say that jt Wash will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Wash has Grudzinski pulled in close to control his posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wash has his foot on Grudzinski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Grudzinski works his way back into a safe position though. Wash wants to get back to his feet but Grudzinski is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Grudzinski pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard.
