Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hyun Suk Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hyun Suk Kim! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Suk Kim looks to score with a jab to the body but Griffin is just out of range. Suk Kim takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Griffin is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. No joy there for Griffin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Suk Kim lands a nice leg kick that just misses Griffin's sensitive parts. Griffin blocks a jab. Suk Kim throws a shot from downtown. Griffin moves away and avoids it. Griffin digs a good body shot into Suk Kim's ribs. Suk Kim closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. A good leg kick by Suk Kim. Griffin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Suk Kim throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Griffin stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Suk Kim follows into mount!

It looks like Chris Griffin has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Griffin is squirming around, avoiding Suk Kim's attempts to control the action. Oh Griffin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Suk Kim might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Griffin kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Griffin seems to have got his legs back now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin tries to lock up and control but Suk Kim gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Griffin is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Griffin is working to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Suk Kim trying to control but he's not successful this time. Griffin is looking to improve his position but Suk Kim isn't that keen on the idea. Suk Kim looking to control but Griffin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Suk Kim avoids the attempt from Griffin to control.

A close round but Hyun Suk Kim will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Chris Griffin's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Griffin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Suk Kim throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Griffin's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Griffin duly obliges. Griffin throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Suk Kim needs to keep his hands up - Griffin had a free shot at his head there. Suk Kim pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Suk Kim takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Suk Kim throws a lazy right hand but Griffin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Griffin moves out of range of the strikes. Suk Kim pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A punch combination from Griffin misses. Griffin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Suk Kim moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Griffin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Suk Kim manages to get to full guard.
Suk Kim is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Suk Kim is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Griffin gets full guard. Griffin has a closed guard, preventing Suk Kim from standing up. Suk Kim wants to stand and escape but instead Griffin has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Griffin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Suk Kim's guard. Suk Kim won't allow Griffin to pass to mount. Griffin passes the guard and advances to mount! Griffin looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin lands a big elbow. Griffin goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Suk Kim is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like Suk Kim is going to stand back up.
Griffin is pressing down on Suk Kim's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Griffin has his hands on Suk Kim's head, controlling the position. Griffin throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Griffin is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Suk Kim is looking to sweep but instead, Griffin has passed into half guard.
Suk Kim has hold of Griffin's hands but Griffin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Suk Kim is trying to stand up here but Griffin is controlling him well. Griffin trying to control the action but Suk Kim is working from the bottom. Griffin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Chris Griffin dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Chris Griffin's cut. That's time! Griffin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Suk Kim throws a combination that misses and Griffin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Suk Kim! Suk Kim tries to buck Griffin off but he can't manage it. Suk Kim taking shots to the head. Griffin working Suk Kim over with strikes here. Griffin is standing up, even though he is in mount. Suk Kim takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Griffin stalks Suk Kim and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Suk Kim's face. Suk Kim staggers backwards, shaken. Suk Kim keeps Griffin at a distance using the push kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Griffin lands a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin moves away from the strike by Suk Kim. Griffin throws a big shot that misses. Griffin avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Suk Kim throws a lazy head kick and Griffin counters with a nice double leg into guard. Griffin stopping the sweep attempt from Suk Kim. Suk Kim manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Griffin manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Suk Kim wants to get up but he can't break Griffin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Griffin looking to control but Suk Kim passes into half guard.

Griffin regains full guard. Nicely done. Suk Kim tries to stand but Griffin is controlling from the bottom. Griffin throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Chris Griffin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Suk Kim would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Griffin misses with a double jab.

The referee warns Suk Kim that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Griffin is squirming around, avoiding Suk Kim's attempts to control the action. Griffin tries to get back to half guard but can't. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Suk Kim controlling from mount. Griffin can't escape the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Chris Griffin showed his dominance in that final round. Well Griffin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
