PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Rogov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Fartardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rogov comes to the cage accompanied by Cult of Personality. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Rogov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Fartardo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rogov shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Rogov content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Fartardo trying to control but Rogov postures up.
Rogov prevents Fartardo from improving his position.
Rogov prevents Fartardo from standing back up.

Fartardo throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Still in half guard, Rogov seems content to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Alex Rogov just wasn't active enough.

Rogov shoots in and bounces Fartardo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Alex Rogov has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Fartardo is trying to control the position but Rogov postures up.

We're going to have a standup here because Alex Rogov wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Rogov drives through and clinches with Fartardo against the cage.

Rogov is trying to trip Fartardo. He has hold of a leg but Fartardo is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Rogov persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Fartardo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rogov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Fartardo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rogov controls the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Rogov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Fartardo gets tackled into the cage by Rogov. Rogov maintains the clinch.
Rogov goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fartardo prevents it.
Fartardo has Rogov pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rogov manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Rogov throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Fartardo blocks it with crossed arms.

Rogov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Fartardo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Fartardo wants to improve his position but Rogov is controlling well.

Rogov seems to be looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rogov is pressing down on Fartardo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Fartardo is holding on for now.

Rogov seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Fartardo has recovered full guard.
Rogov stands up over Fartardo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Rogov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fartardo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rogov has managed to get both his arms back between Fartardo's legs - danger averted.

Alex Rogov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fartardo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rogov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fartardo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rogov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alex Rogov.

Rogov looking to score a takedown here. Fartardo is defending well but Rogov drives through and ends up in Fartardo's guard.
Rogov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Rogov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rogov is controlling the pace.
Rogov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fartardo for as long as he can get away with.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Fartardo misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Rogov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Rogov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Fartardo is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Rogov has taken his back!
Fartardo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

What can Fartardo do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Rogov is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Fartardo is defending well though. Rogov let's go of the attempt for now.

A less than humble Alex Rogov misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
