Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Rickets (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Hatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rickets comes to the cage accompanied by Notorious B.I.G - Juicy. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Rickets!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brett Hatt!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatt tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rickets was well out of range. Poor timing from Hatt.

Hatt clinches up against the cage.
Hatt keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rickets's efforts to push away.

Hatt's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rickets throws a one two combo.
Hatt throws a hook to the side of Rickets's head but Rickets sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A nice inside leg kick there by Hatt. That's going to slow Rickets down.
Hatt shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A combination from Rickets does no damage.
Rickets slips under a jab from Hatt.
Hatt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hatt tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Rickets is able to avoid easily.

Rickets lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Hatt shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rickets napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Rickets is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hatt is controlling him well.
Rickets parries the strikes from Hatt easily there. Hatt is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rickets to escape.
Hatt throws an elbow but Rickets slips to the side and avoids it well.
Hatt cracks Rickets with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hatt misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ground and pound from Hatt seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Hatt sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rickets is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hatt has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hatt tries to move into full mount but can't pass Rickets's legs.
Rickets defending against the ground and pound.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rickets wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hatt cracks Rickets with a big right hand but Rickets just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Rickets takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Hatt throws a strike aimed at the side of Rickets's head but Rickets avoids it well.

Rickets on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rickets tries to get out of the position.

Hatt lands an elbow.
Rickets knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hatt on the ground.
Rickets takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Chris Rickets has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hatt connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Rickets some visible discomfort.
Hatt lands a few punches from side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Hatt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hatt misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hatt in side control, throwing shots but Rickets defends.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brett Hatt dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Chris Rickets's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hatt closes the distance and clinches up with Rickets, looking for a takedown. Hatt pushes Rickets against the cage but Rickets circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hatt misses with a wild combination.
Chris Rickets is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rickets with a hook.
Rickets keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hatt misses the body punch
and Rickets counters with a three punch combo that has Hatt backing up. Hatt nods at Rickets to acknowledge the strikes.
Hatt misses with a takedown attempt - Rickets sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Hatt has managed to clinch.

Hatt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rickets will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hatt throws a series of punches but Rickets avoids them all with ease.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hatt loads up on a big right hand but Rickets slips the punch.
Hatt wants to clinch.
Rickets scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Hatt throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rickets counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hatt tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rickets manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rickets avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hatt closes the distance and clinches up with Rickets, looking for a takedown. Hatt pushes Rickets against the cage but Rickets circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Chris Rickets has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brett Hatt.
Hatt attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
A right-left combo lands from Rickets.

Hatt swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Hatt misses with a body shot.
Rickets stalks Hatt and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hatt's face. Hatt staggers backwards, shaken.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hatt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hatt showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rickets.
Hatt throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rickets.

Hatt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hatt has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Rickets squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rickets in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Rickets avoids a series of strikes thrown by Hatt.
Hatt misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Rickets holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Hatt tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Hatt with a couple of short strikes.
Hatt throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Hatt lands a big shot there that rocks Rickets but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rickets trying desperately to get to his feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rickets is bucking up trying to escape but Hatt cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


Chris Rickets's cut is getting worse.
Hatt sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brett Hatt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Hatt tries to score with a low kick but Rickets moves his leg out of the way.
Rickets's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rickets duly obliges.

letting Rickets counter with a right hand.

Hatt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rickets avoids it really well and circles away.

Hatt drops his hands momentarily and Rickets takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Rickets fails to land with a series of punches.
Hatt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rickets misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hatt throws an off balance right hand
letting Rickets counter with a right hand.
Hatt slips a jab and a cross from Rickets.

Hatt moves into the clinch.
Hatt goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Hatt stalling against the cage.

Hatt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Brett Hatt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rickets avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hatt throws a hook to the side of Rickets's head but Rickets sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rickets throws a right hand that Hatt ducks under and follows up with a left that Hatt also avoids with ease.

Rickets connects with a single shot there.
Rickets fails to land with a series of punches.
Hatt fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Some wild striking there from Hatt.

and Rickets counters with a series of strikes. Hatt will be more careful next time no doubt.

Rickets slips a straight right by Hatt.

Hatt throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hatt takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Rickets scores with a shot to the body.
A punch combination from Hatt misses.
Hatt misses the jab.
Chris Rickets is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hatt takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rickets misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rickets clobbers Hatt with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Hatt dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rickets. That did some damage!
Rickets connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Hatt tries to clinch but Rickets moves out of range.

Hatt throws a solid leg kick but Rickets takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hatt.
Hatt misses with a few strikes there.
Hatt throws a hook but Rickets avoids it easily.

Rickets gets caught flat footed, as Hatt shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hatt is looking to work some ground and pound but Rickets has wrist control.
Brett Hatt is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Hatt throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rickets works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hatt working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hatt trying to control the position from guard on top but Rickets is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hatt throws an elbow that misses. Rickets uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hatt's guard. Nice move by Rickets!

And that's the end of the fight!
Brett Hatt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Hatt winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Brett Hatt tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
