Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Villia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luiz Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Villia!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Villia stuffs the takedown attempt from Silva. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.
Villia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Silva tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Villia cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Villia will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Villia leaves Silva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Anthony Villia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Silva holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Villia gets underhooks to prevent Silva's takedown attempt.
Silva is looking to take this one to the mat.

Villia gets control of Silva's arms and successfully pulls guard. Villia will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Silva might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Villia holds on and takes a little breather.

Villia looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Silva forces Villia back against the cage and clinches.
Silva has Villia pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Villia manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Silva wants to take the fight to the mat but Villia manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Silva is trying to drag Villia to the mat but Villia just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Silva is working for takedown but Villia is calmly controlling the position for now.

Villia regains full guard. Nicely done.

Silva is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Villia is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Villia has escaped and now he's on top!

Villia has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from.

Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Villia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Villia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Villia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Villia wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Silva is looking for a triangle here but Villia uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Luiz Silva will probably get the nod.

Silva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Villia is aware though and is defending well.
Silva keeping moving, preventing Villia from controlling successfully.
Anthony Villia has got the better of the ground game so far.
Villia might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Silva kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Villia accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Anthony Villia.

Villia tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Anthony Villia.
I think Villia has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
