Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otis Butcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Butcher has chosen Stillborn by Black Label Society as his entrance music. Otis Butcher will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Barnett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Otis Butcher! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barnett drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Barnett slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Butcher is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Barnett postures up in Butcher's guard and throws a big left but Butcher blocks it. Barnett stays in close to Butcher's body and controls the position.
We're going to have a standup here because Josh Barnett wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Barnett on the wrong end of a nice hook. Otis Butcher is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Butcher misses with an uppercut. Barnett closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Butcher quickly recovers to half guard. Barnett gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Barnett misses with a head kick.
Butcher fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barnett manages to avoid it. Barnett walks into a stiff left hand from Butcher. Barnett fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Butcher, pushing him back against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Butcher throws an elbow but it's blocked.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barnett takes a knee right on the jaw!
It looks like Josh Barnett has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Barnett jumps guard but Butcher turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Butcher lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Barnett backwards. Barnett drags the fight down to the ground.
Butcher is fighting to break Barnett's control of his arms but Barnett is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Barnett is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Butcher rolls with it to try and escape but Barnett cranks on the arm and Butcher is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Josh Barnett! Josh Barnett decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
