The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearce throws a body punch but Hoivunen moves out of range.
Pearce shoots in for a double leg but Hoivunen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pearce ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hoivunen moves away.
Pearce misses the jab.

Pearce misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hoivunen.
Hoivunen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pearce closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
