Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Nut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Fernan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nut wants to slow Fernan down by chopping away at his legs.
Nut thuds his shin into the meat of Fernan's side.
Nut uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fernan.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fernan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fernan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Fernan closes the distance and clinches up with Nut, looking for a takedown. Fernan pushes Nut against the cage but Nut circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sam Nut is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fernan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Nut manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Fernan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fernan.
Fernan shoots in but no luck this time.
Nut throws a hook to the side of Fernan's head but Fernan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Fernan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nut has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fernan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nut is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fernan, into his guard.
Nut is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Sam Nut has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
