Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dion Lion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lion might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to roit. Ricardo Cruz has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dion Lion's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ricardo Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cruz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lion circles away.
Cruz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lion's waist but Lion gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cruz off to one side.
Dion Lion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Cruz.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lion but Lion pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lion feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lion decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
No joy there for Cruz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cruz thows a body shot but no joy.
Cruz shoots in but Lion avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lion looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Lion is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lion postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Cruz to stand up.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Lion.
Lion decides to stand back up.
Cruz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lion pinned against the cage. Lion gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lion has a takedown stuffed.
Cruz closes the distance and clinches.
Lion trying to land knees to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cruz content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Lion missing with knees to the body.
Lion throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cruz tries to stall but Lion uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Cruz blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Lion tries to land knees in the clinch but Cruz avoids the damage to the body.
Cruz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lion walks away with a smile on his face. Cruz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lion shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cruz napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lion decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cruz to his feet.
Cruz looks to land a combination but Lion avoids it well.
Cruz looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Lion looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lion looking for a guillotine here but Cruz defends easily.
Lion looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Cruz is defending well. Lion quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Cruz has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Lion celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dion Lion!
Dion Lion got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
