Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rita moves into range and clinches up with Bird.
Rita lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Rita turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Rita decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bird to his feet.
Rita looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Bird!
Rita working for a submission but Bird is keeping him at bay.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rita landing punches.
The referee warns Bird that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Rita has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rita tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Rita stands up from mount. Strange move.
Rita shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rita stops Bird from standing up.
Rita postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rita advances position into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bird trying to remain calm as Rita controls from the top position.
Rita is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bird has escaped the position, nice work there.
Rita has hold of Bird's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Bird tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Rita cranks the arm and Bird screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Bird, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Thalita Rita!
