Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Under The Bridge. Gustavo Balboa could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Nate Diaz's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gustavo Balboa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Diaz! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz moves out of range of the body kick. Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign! Balboa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Diaz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Balboa is trying to ground and pound but Diaz uses the momentary lack of control by Balboa to regain half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diaz is looking to control Balboa's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Diaz avoid being mounted? Balboa with the ground and pound but Diaz uses the opportunity to regain guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Balboa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Balboa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Balboa throws an elbow that misses. Diaz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Balboa's guard. Nice move by Diaz! Diaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Balboa swivels though and keeps the full guard. Diaz drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Balboa dives on top into guard. Balboa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Balboa throws a strike but Diaz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Diaz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Balboa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Balboa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Balboa! Balboa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground. Balboa is trying to ground and pound but Diaz uses the momentary lack of control by Balboa to regain half guard. Balboa not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Balboa working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Balboa throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Diaz has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Balboa should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Diaz has tightened it up now! Balboa should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
