Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lupe Fiasco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Lawrence!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawrence moves out of range as Fiasco strikes.
Fiasco circles away from the clinch attempt
and Fiasco counters with a right hand to the body.
Lawrence looks to score with a jab to the body but Fiasco is just out of range.
Lawrence wants to clinch but Fiasco slips to the side
and Fiasco counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Lawrence tries to clinch there but Fiasco circles away.
Lawrence fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fiasco, pushing him back against the cage.
Fiasco is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Lawrence is looking to take this one to the mat.

so Lawrence counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Lupe Fiasco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Lawrence.
Fiasco changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lawrence tries to avoid it but Fiasco manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lawrence to the ground. Lawrence escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fiasco misses with a few strikes there.
Lawrence is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fiasco sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Lawrence scores with a one two! Fiasco had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Lawrence tries to clinch but Fiasco is having none of it.

Fiasco lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Fiasco stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lawrence with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fiasco to score with a decent uppercut.
Lawrence is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Fiasco pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Fiasco throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lawrence dodges the punch combination from Fiasco.
Lawrence rushes Fiasco and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Fiasco shoots in but no luck this time.
Fiasco throws a head kick but Lawrence moves out of range.
Lawrence throws a solid leg kick but Fiasco takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Lawrence.
Lawrence tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Fiasco manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Fiasco leaves Lawrence with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Fiasco. Lawrence does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lawrence shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fiasco defends it nicely.
Lawrence chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Fiasco can pounce on him.
Lawrence throws a right and a left that Fiasco avoids nicely.
Fiasco fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lawrence rushes Fiasco and presses him up against the cage.

Lawrence drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lupe Fiasco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Lawrence.
Fiasco lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Lawrence backwards.
Fiasco has clasped his hands together around Lawrence's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Lawrence wants to get back to his feet but Fiasco drags him back down.
Lawrence is trying to control Fiasco's posture but Fiasco avoids it.
Lawrence tries to buck Fiasco off but Fiasco is having none of it.
