Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marku Parasca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikolai Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nikolai Peterson ! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson throws a series of punches but Parasca avoids them all with ease. Peterson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Parasca moves out of range as Peterson strikes. Peterson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Parasca counters with a stiff right hand. Good standup being displayed there by Peterson as he connects with a hook. Parasca misses with an uppercut. Peterson saw that one coming. Peterson works the jab nicely. Peterson misses with a right hand and Parasca counters with a good, hard body kick but Peterson shrugs it off. Peterson moves out of range as Parasca strikes. Parasca clinches up with Peterson and pushes him back against the cage. Parasca tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Peterson avoids it. Parasca lands a knee to the head.

Peterson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Parasca walks away with a smile on his face. Peterson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Those never looked like landing. Parasca fails in his attempt to clinch. A momentary lapse in concentration from Peterson enables Parasca to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Peterson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Peterson controls Parasca momentarily but Parasca frees himself. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Parasca thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Parasca wants to get up but he can't break Peterson 's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Parasca is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Peterson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Peterson has escaped and now he's on top! Peterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Parasca is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Parasca working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Peterson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Peterson wants to control from the top but Parasca keeps moving. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Parasca manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Peterson stacks Parasca on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Peterson ! And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marku Parasca. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Parasca, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
