Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nicholis Nabavian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Lazzarino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nicholis Nabavian! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Lazzarino! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lazzarino doesn't manage to clinch there - Nabavian circles away.

Nabavian throws a lazy right hand but Lazzarino sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Lazzarino rushes Nabavian and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Nabavian has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lazzarino is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Lazzarino misses with a knee strike.
Lazzarino tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Lazzarino throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Nabavian blocks it with crossed arms. Nabavian is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lazzarino gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Nabavian is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Lazzarino can't fight it off and eventually Nabavian manages to take the fight to the floor. Lazzarino looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Nabavian avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nabavian trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Nabavian is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Nabavian drops back looking for a leg! Lazzarino is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lazzarino manages to kick Nabavian off! Nabavian jumps back into Lazzarino's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nabavian drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nabavian jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Nabavian slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Lazzarino is not content to let Nabavian control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Lazzarino's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Nabavian is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Lazzarino looks calm but he's in trouble here. Nabavian gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Lazzarino is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Nabavian lets go of the hold and Lazzarino can pop his arm back in it's socket.
