Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Balare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Aaron Perez has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aaron Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hector Balare! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balare has his takedown stuffed so Perez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Perez tries to stand but Balare is controlling from the bottom. Perez wants to control from the top but Balare keeps moving. Perez being controlled here momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Balare trying to control the position.
Balare bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Perez's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Balare can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Balare controlling from the top position. Balare trying to control the position from guard on top but Perez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Balare postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Balare is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Perez keeping moving, preventing Balare from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Balare throwing strikes but missing. Balare slips nicely into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Balare is trying to control. Perez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Perez on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Balare trying to mount his opponent but Perez defends it. Balare sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Perez defending well though. Perez is defending against the submission attempts here by Balare.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Balare slows the pace down in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Balare works his foot free and advances to mount. Balare cracks Perez with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Balare goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Perez turns into him and now he's in Balare's guard.
Perez wants to control from the top but Balare keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perez trying to stand up but can't free himself from Balare's guard. Balare keeping full guard, as Perez tries to pass. Balare looking to hit a scissor sweep but Perez is one step ahead there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Perez looking to sit in guard and control but Balare gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hector Balare dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Balare shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Balare shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Perez sprawls well. Perez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Balare gets slowly back to his feet. Balare shoots in but Perez avoids the takedown attempt easily. Aaron Perez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hector Balare. Perez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Balare paws at him with a jab and circles away. Balare shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Perez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Balare tries to avoid it but Perez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Balare to the ground. Balare escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Balare doesn't succeed with the takedown and Perez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Balare doesn't succeed with the takedown and Perez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Balare thinking. Perez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Perez showed some decent athleticism there. Balare is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez blocks the strikes from Balare.
Perez trying to control from half guard but Balare is working away. Perez seems to be working for a kimura but Balare defends the submission attempt. Balare wants to control but Perez is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Balare is staying active underneath Perez, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Perez wants to pass to mount but Balare is defending the position. Balare moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Perez trying to control the position from guard on top but Balare is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Balare is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Perez has his hands clasped together but Balare extends an breaks Perez's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Balare.
