Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Venkman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobuli Araguli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Venkman!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bobuli Araguli!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Venkman tries for a takedown but Araguli sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Venkman shoots in but Araguli avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Peter Venkman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Venkman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Venkman feints and as Araguli raises his hands in defense, Venkman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Venkman stands and throws Araguli's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sloppy strikes there by Venkman.

Venkman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Araguli knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Araguli regains half guard.

Venkman is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Venkman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Araguli defends it well.

Venkman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Araguli is just riding it out for now. Venkman eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Araguli is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Araguli keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Venkman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Araguli is fending him off so far but Venkman persists. Nope, Araguli circles away and we're back to standing.

Venkman shoots for a double leg takedown but Araguli sprawls well. He's pushed Venkman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bobuli Araguli showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Araguli tries to buck Venkman off but Venkman is having none of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Venkman is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Venkman stops Araguli from getting back to his feet.
Araguli is in trouble now - Venkman has advanced to mount!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Venkman looking to take Araguli's back but Araguli rolls and after a scramble, Araguli ends up on top in guard. Nice escape there from Araguli to escape a tricky position.

That's time! Venkman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Horrible takedown by Venkman or perhaps it was just good defense by Araguli which made him look bad.
Venkman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Araguli tries to avoid it but Venkman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Araguli to the ground. Araguli escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Venkman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Venkman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Venkman decides to stand up, so the ref orders Araguli to his feet.

Araguli dodges the ground and pound from Venkman.
Venkman tries to score with some ground and pound. Araguli controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Araguli is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Venkman's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
