The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Von Cunth throws the left hand but Sozi avoids the punch easily.
Von Cunth scores with a hook to the body. Sozi takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Sozi closes the distance looking to clinch
and Von Cunth counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Von Cunth throws a good cross that connects.
Sozi takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Sozi moves out of range of the leg kick from Von Cunth.
Horrible takedown by Sozi or perhaps it was just good defense by Von Cunth which made him look bad.
Sozi swings for the body but Von Cunth moves out of range.

Von Cunth uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Von Cunth lands with a right hand.
Von Cunth throws a lazy head kick

and Sozi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sozi.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Von Cunth avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sozi wants to control from the top but Von Cunth keeps moving.

Sozi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Von Cunth keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sozi shoots in and drives through. Von Cunth sprawls well.
Dieter Von Cunth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Qazim Sozi.

and Sozi counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sozi.
Von Cunth lands a hook that snaps the head of Sozi backwards.

Von Cunth will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Sozi up against the cage.

Von Cunth pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Von Cunth walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Sozi drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Von Cunth swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Sozi's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
