Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Vio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vio has chosen everessence wake up as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Vio! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vio shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Silva is in all sorts of trouble here.
Silva tries to lock up and control but Vio gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Vio is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Silva has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Silva! Vio looks gassed! Vio is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vio swivels though and keeps the full guard. Silva is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Vio for as long as he can get away with. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Carlos Silva just wasn't active enough. Silva wants to clinch. Silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Silva scores with a spinning back kick! Silva tries to clinch but Vio moves out of range. Silva fails with a takedown attempt. John Vio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Silva was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Silva prevents Vio from getting the reversal. Silva content just to control the position here. Silva has control of Vio's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Vio regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Silva landing strikes from the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva is landing with some decent strikes but Vio is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Silva wants to control the pace but Vio is squirming around nicely. Silva connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Silva dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Vio swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva. Vio leaves Silva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Silva misses with a head kick.
Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Vio manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Silva clinches up against the cage. Silva tries to pull guard but Vio won't allow it.
Silva is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vio working hard to break the clinch. Vio is breathing heavily. Vio tries to break free but Silva pushes him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Vio wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Silva is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Silva gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Well, if Silva is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vio is looking for a sweep. Silva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Vio looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Silva is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Vio has managed to free his arm - good work. Silva looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Silva decides to return to a standing position. No joy there for Vio, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice takedown defense from Vio. No joy for Silva on that attempt. Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Silva scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vio tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vio to the ground. Vio escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Vio circles away.
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Silva moves in looking to clinch but Vio pushes him off. Silva gets a double leg takedown into Vio's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Vio is looking for a triangle here but Silva uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vio tries to get back to half guard but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Silva dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Vio tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch. Vio is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Silva to keep the fight standing. Silva has Vio pressed against the cage, preventing Vio from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Vio is looking to take this one to the mat. Silva stalling the fight.
Vio takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Silva pulls guard successfully.
Carlos Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Silva pulls Vio in to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Carlos Silva has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Silva shoots for a takedown but Vio saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Vio misses with a takedown attempt and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Carlos Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Vio.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva pushing down on Vio's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Vio is refusing to be controlled, as Silva sits in half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vio looks like he's trying to stand up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Silva in particular looking to stall. Vio wants to get back to full guard but Silva has passed into side control. Silva decides to take the fight back to the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Silva fails with the takedown. Vio takes a kick to the side of the head. Vio connects with a nice looking jab.
Silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Carlos Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Silva misses with a wild combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva gets caught flat footed, as Vio shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Vio is looking to stand up but Silva won't let him. Vio wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position. Vio is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Silva is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Silva has escaped and now he's on top! Silva prevents Vio from getting back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Carlos Silva showed his dominance in that final round. Well Silva has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
