Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Japan Fighter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Martin Morales! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fighter drives through with a takedown into Morales's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Fighter is stalling in the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Japan Fighter. Morales throws a series of punches but Fighter avoids them all with ease. Fighter slips a jab and a cross from Morales.
Morales scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Fighter doesn't seem bothered though. Morales connects with the punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morales throws a combination. Fighter tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Fighter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Morales wants to try and get back to his feet. Fighter controlling from mount. Fighter breaks from Morales's wrist control and lands an elbow. Morales is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Fighter looking to control and managing it successfully. Fighter lands with some strikes. Fighter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fighter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Morales for as long as he can get away with. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Morales wants to try and get back to his feet. Fighter lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Morales hang on? Fighter controlling his opponent. Morales really wants to buck Fighter off and get back to his feet.

Morales stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morales wants it to stay on the feet. Fighter shoots in for a double leg but Morales sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Morales lands a really nice looking cross but Fighter seems unphased.

That's one minute gone in the round. Fighter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Morales as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Japan Fighter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Morales gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Morales being controlled here, momentarily. Fighter's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Morales wants to stand and escape but Fighter is having none of it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fighter throws a big elbow that misses. Fighter slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Fighter. Left hook, right uppercut from Morales. Fighter closes the distance and clinches up with Morales, looking for a takedown. Fighter pushes Morales against the cage but Morales circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fighter fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Fighter shoots in and drives through. Morales sprawls well. Fighter shoots in but no luck this time. Morales throws a series of punches but Fighter moves out of range. Fighter showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Morales.

Fighter is stalling in the full guard. Fighter working some strikes from top position. Morales being controlled here, momentarily. Morales wants to get back to his feet but Fighter is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Japan Fighter dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Fighter drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Fighter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Fighter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Morales really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fighter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We're going to have a standup here because Japan Fighter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Fighter shoots in and drives through. Morales sprawls well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fighter fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Morales sprawls well initially but Fighter persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Japan Fighter showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fighter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
