Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cain Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Royce Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alvarez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Alvarez in his guard.

Alvarez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alvarez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silva is working away from the top position though.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Alvarez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Alvarez gets a clinch.
Alvarez misses with a knee strike.
Alvarez swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Alvarez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alvarez avoids it really well and circles away.
Alvarez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alvarez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Alvarez's legs - danger averted.

Silva drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Silva seems to have locked his on tight now - Alvarez screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Silva, as he picks up the win!
