Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jorge Ortiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Roland Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hunter counters with a left and a right that stings Ortiz.
A head kick from Hunter lands but Ortiz takes it in his stride.
Hunter fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ortiz.
Hunter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hunter dives in and grabs Ortiz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ortiz pushes down on Hunter's head and hops out.
Horrible takedown by Hunter or perhaps it was just good defense by Ortiz which made him look bad.
Hunter shoots in but Ortiz avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jorge Ortiz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roland Hunter.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunter lands with a straight right. Ortiz didn't see that one coming.
Hunter lands a head kick!
Hunter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ortiz really is a fat lump.
Hunter misses with a series of wild punches.
Ortiz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ortiz showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ortiz wants to take a breather but Hunter is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hunter trying to control from the bottom.
Hunter might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ortiz kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Hunter tries to roll over but Ortiz keeps him under control.
Ortiz is looking to take a break and control but Hunter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ortiz looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hunter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ortiz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ortiz's back!
Hunter is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Ortiz is defending well though. Hunter let's go of the attempt for now.
