Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ebenezer Scrooge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piki Hoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piki Hoki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ebenezer Scrooge! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Piki Hoki! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scrooge throws a right and a left that both miss. Scrooge shoots and misses and Hoki holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Scrooge changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hoki fights it off and pushes away nicely.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Scrooge could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hoki scores with a knee to the head.
It looks like Ebenezer Scrooge has been cut. Scrooge tries to break the clinch but Hoki is controlling the position. Hoki breaks the clinch.
Scrooge throws a shot from downtown. Hoki moves away and avoids it. Scrooge throws a nice looking combination but Hoki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Scrooge avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Scrooge throws a series of punches but Hoki moves out of range. Hoki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Scrooge.
A punch combination from Hoki misses. Scrooge throws a right hand that Hoki ducks under and follows up with a left that Hoki also avoids with ease. Hoki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Scrooge swivels and escapes. Hoki feints and then cracks Scrooge's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Scrooge down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scrooge keeps the fight on the outside. Hoki avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Piki Hoki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Scrooge dodges the punch combination from Hoki.
Scrooge shoots in for a double leg but Hoki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ebenezer Scrooge. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hoki throws a nice outside leg kick. Scrooge closes the distance and clinches up with Hoki, looking for a takedown. Scrooge pushes Hoki against the cage but Hoki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hoki darts in and clinches Scrooge up against the cage. Hoki connects with a nasty looking knee right to Scrooge's face.
Scrooge is breathing heavily. Scrooge takes a knee right on the jaw!
Hoki manages to break the clinch.
Hoki tries to clinch but Scrooge is having none of it. Hoki tries to clinch up but Scrooge circles away and keeps his distance. Scrooge shoots in looking for a takedown but Hoki manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Scrooge's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. The fight stays on the outside here - Hoki looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Scrooge swats away the attempt to clinch by Hoki.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoki has closed the distance and engaged Scrooge in a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Scrooge tries for a takedown but Hoki manages to get underhooks.
Hoki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hoki throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Hoki throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Scrooge fails with the takedown. Hoki shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Scrooge is trying to defend but Hoki finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Hoki sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Scrooge defending well though. Hoki is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Scrooge manages to get to full guard. Hoki would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scrooge is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hoki defends well. Scrooge avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Scrooge is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hoki has his hands clasped together but Scrooge extends an breaks Hoki's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Scrooge.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ebenezer Scrooge! A very excited looking Ebenezer Scrooge rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
