Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sergio Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ashraf West!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Silva throws a lazy right hand but West sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Silva misses with a looping right.
Silva on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
West misses with a looping right.
Silva misses with an uppercut. West saw that one coming.
West thumps Silva with a low kick.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ashraf West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A clash of legs there as Silva blocks the low kick.
Silva shoots in for a double leg but West sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sergio Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

West has managed to clinch.
West is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Silva managing to block the knees to the body from West.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva tries to pull guard but West won't allow it.
Silva tries to break free but West pushes him back against the cage.
West lands a hook to the side of the head.
West looking to slow down the pace here.

Silva gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Silva stalling.
Silva trying to mount his opponent but West defends it.

Silva is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

West is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Silva has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! West is tapping! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Sergio Silva!
Sergio Silva decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
