Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rich Gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Loyoto Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gold comes to the cage accompanied by Bullet with a name. Loyoto Cruz acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rich Gold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Loyoto Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gold drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Gold stands up and beckons Cruz to his feet.
Cruz shoots for a takedown but Gold saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cruz looks gassed!
Gold tries to bum rush Cruz with a series of wild strikes but Cruz uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Cruz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gold to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Cruz has a closed guard, preventing Gold from standing up.
Gold really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gold trying to control but Cruz is working from the bottom.
Gold stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cruz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cruz tries to strike from the bottom.

Gold stands and steps away. Cruz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Gold throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cruz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gold is in Cruz's guard.
Gold is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Cruz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Gold pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cruz is keeping the position for now.

Cruz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gold slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cruz on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Gold controlling the position from side mount.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gold trying to control the position but Cruz is working away.

Gold tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gold has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gold scoring with punches and elbows.
Gold in side control lands a decent elbow.

Gold is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Cruz looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gold gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Cruz is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gold lets go of the hold and Cruz can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rich Gold!
Rich Gold got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
