Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Magus Arbenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lawrence Cohen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cohen has chosen Season in the Abyss as his entrance music. Lawrence Cohen acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Magus Arbenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 21 - 2, fighting out of New York, Lawrence Cohen!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cohen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Arbenson throws a head kick but Cohen moves out of range.
Cohen fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Arbenson is out of range.
A big left from Cohen misses.
Cohen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Arbenson wants to clinch
and Cohen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Arbenson avoids a kick to the body.
Arbenson is looking to clinch but Cohen is avoiding it.
Arbenson closes the distance looking to clinch
and Cohen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Cohen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Arbenson's head backwards.
Arbenson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Cohen circles away from the clinch attempt
and Cohen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Arbenson closes the distance looking to clinch
and Cohen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Arbenson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Cohen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Arbenson moves away.
A head kick misses from Arbenson.
Arbenson looks to clinch
letting Cohen counter with a right hand.
Arbenson moves out of range as Cohen strikes.
Arbenson tries to clinch up
and Cohen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cohen thows a body shot but no joy.

Cohen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Arbenson quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Cohen trying to mount his opponent but Arbenson defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Arbenson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Arbenson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cohen controls the pace.

Cohen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Cohen wants to pass the guard but Arbenson is keeping the position.

Cohen drops back looking for a leg! Arbenson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Arbenson manages to kick Cohen off! Cohen jumps back into Arbenson's guard.
Cohen chips away with some ground and pound.
Cohen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Arbenson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cohen manages to get himself to full guard.
Arbenson wants to control from the top but Cohen keeps moving.

Arbenson tries to free his leg and advance position but Cohen is retaining full guard.
Arbenson looking to sit in guard and control but Cohen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cohen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cohen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arbenson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cohen is looking for a kimura but Arbenson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cohen to get the leverage.
Cohen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Arbenson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cohen is working away from the top position though.
Cohen slips a nice elbow through Arbenson's hands, connecting with Arbenson's forehead.
Cohen is taking a breather. Arbenson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Arbenson is trying to maintain the position but Cohen is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Arbenson is not content to let Cohen control the position.
Arbenson is looking to improve his position.

Cohen is looking for a kimura but Arbenson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cohen to get the leverage.

Cohen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Arbenson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cohen.

Arbenson wants to control but Cohen is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lawrence Cohen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Arbenson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Arbenson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Cohen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arbenson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cohen distracts Arbenson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Cohen wants to control from the top but Arbenson keeps moving.
Cohen passes Arbenson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Arbenson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Well, if Cohen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Arbenson trying to control but Cohen postures up.
Cohen passes to side control.
Arbenson is trying to get back to half guard.
Arbenson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Cohen scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Arbenson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Magus Arbenson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Cohen trying to control but Arbenson is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Lawrence Cohen.
Cohen misses with a takedown attempt - Arbenson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Magus Arbenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lawrence Cohen.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cohen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Arbenson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cohen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Cohen takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Arbenson to pass into mount.

Lawrence Cohen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cohen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
