The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ross softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Ross fails to pull guard.
Ross doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Ross is trying to pull guard but Mafra turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Mafra gets underhooks to prevent Ross's takedown attempt.
Guilherme Mafra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Ross.
Ross is looking to take this one to the mat.
Ross is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Mafra manages to break the clinch.
Guilherme Mafra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ross moves into range and clinches up with Mafra.

Mafra fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mafra misses with a head kick.
Mafra is breathing heavily.

Mafra closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mafra is looking to break free of the clinch but Ross has double underhooks.

Ross breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mafra tries a head kick but it misses.
Mafra dodges the punch combination from Ross.

Ross moves into range and clinches up with Mafra.

Ross drags the fight down to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Ross is looking for a triangle here but Mafra uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Ross has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Mafra doesn't defend quickly enough and Ross has managed to lock this one up! Can Mafra escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Ross on a fantastic submission victory.
