Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leka throws a right and a left that both miss. Laws looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Leka connects with a high kick. Laws fails with a takedown attempt. Pekka Leka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Leka throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Laws is rocked! Leka gets the takedown into side control. Leka is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Leka's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Laws tries for a takedown but Leka circles away easily and Leka counters with an inside leg kick. Laws avoids a punch combination nicely.

Laws with a poor takedown and Leka counters with a nice uppercut. Pekka Leka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodney Laws. Nice sprawl there from Laws as Leka shoots in. Leka tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Leka looks to land a combination but Laws avoids it well. Leka closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Leka works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Leka controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Laws is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Leka wants to control from the top but Laws keeps moving. Leka sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Laws's guard. Laws moves into full guard.
Leka slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Laws keeping full guard, as Leka tries to pass. Leka is pushing down on Laws's leg trying to pass to half guard. Laws is fighting to maintain full guard but Leka has managed to sneak the leg through. Leka wants to pass the guard but Laws is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Laws is looking to improve his position.

He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Laws's guard. Laws looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Leka passes easily into side control. Nice work. Laws is not content to let Leka control the position. Laws manages to get back to half guard. Laws missing with punches from the bottom.

Leka prevents Laws from improving his position. Leka is taking a breather. Laws says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Leka seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Laws for as long as he can get away with. Leka wants to take a breather but Laws is having none of it. Leka looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Laws trying to control from the bottom.

Leka tries for a takedown but Laws circles away easily and Laws counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Leka's guard now. Leka working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Laws. Laws postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Leka is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Laws, into his guard. Leka wants to control from the top but Laws keeps moving. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Laws shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Leka's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Laws drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Leka manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Laws has Leka in his guard. Leka thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Laws has his foot on Leka's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think.
