Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nazeem Hamed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paublo Marinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nazeem Hamed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paublo Marinez!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marinez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hamed to the mat! Hamed manages to get full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Marinez keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hamed's head.
Marinez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hamed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Marinez postures up.
Hamed doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Hamed looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marinez is one step ahead there.

Hamed seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Hamed is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Marinez trying to control the position from guard on top but Hamed is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Marinez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hamed wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Hamed is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Marinez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hamed is working Marinez over with some ground and pound from side control.
Hamed is looking to take a break and control but Marinez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hamed is trying to get an arm triangle but Marinez is defending well.

Hamed decides to stand up, so the ref orders Marinez to his feet.
Marinez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Marinez shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hamed wants to control but Marinez is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Hamed has his hands clasped together around Marinez's back. He's all about the action.
Hamed is trying to maintain the position but Marinez is very close to passing his half guard.
Hamed is looking for a sweep. Marinez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Marinez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hamed keeps working.
Hamed manages to get to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Marinez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Hamed sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Hamed wants to control but Marinez is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hamed flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Hamed moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hamed is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marinez is aware though and is defending well.
Hamed might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Marinez wants to stand and escape but instead Hamed has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Marinez keeping moving, preventing Hamed from controlling successfully.
Marinez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hamed gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hamed slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marinez punching from the bottom.
Marinez isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hamed stacks Marinez on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hamed!
Marinez is breathing heavily.
You can see the frustration on Marinez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hamed working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hamed is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Marinez's shoulder. That is not cool.

Hamed wants to lay and pray for a moment but Marinez keeps working.
Hamed has hold of Marinez's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Marinez tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hamed cranks the arm and Marinez screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Marinez, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Nazeem Hamed!
