Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, D J Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ultiamte Warrior! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson tries to keep at a distance but Warrior has taken the fight into the clinch. Jackson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Warrior after a bit of a struggle. Warrior is defending well against a takedown attempt. Warrior is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jackson can't fight it off and eventually Warrior manages to take the fight to the floor. Jackson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jackson is looking for a triangle but Warrior pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Warrior trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Warrior trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Warrior controls from within his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Warrior throws a strike but Jackson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Warrior keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully. Jackson wants to pass the guard but Warrior is keeping the position. Jackson tries to stand but Warrior is controlling from the bottom. Jackson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Jackson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jackson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Jackson pushes down on Warrior's leg and manages to get into half guard. Jackson wants to get back to his feet.
Warrior keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Warrior really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jackson wants to work for an arm triangle but Warrior is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Warrior pushes Jackson off looking to stand but Jackson dives back in and keeps control.

D J Jackson dominated that round. That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Warrior scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Warrior remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Jackson is not content to let Warrior control the position. Jackson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Warrior's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Warrior with the ground and pound but Jackson uses the opportunity to regain guard. Warrior slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Jackson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Warrior is aware though and is defending well. Warrior avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Warrior with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Warrior postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Jackson wants to sweep here but Warrior controlling him for the moment. Warrior's corner is telling him to maintain position. Jackson has momentary wrist control but Warrior slips an elbow through the middle. D J Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jackson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Warrior is aware though and is defending well. Jackson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jackson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Jackson works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson looking to secure an arm triangle but Warrior defends it well. Jackson looking to ground and pound but Warrior is blocking nicely. Jackson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Warrior manages to avoid the submission attempt. Jackson tries for a kimura but Warrior is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Warrior wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Jackson looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Warrior is avoiding damage well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jackson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jackson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that D J Jackson will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jackson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Warrior closes the distance and clinches. Warrior turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Warrior manages to end up in side control. Warrior connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jackson some visible discomfort.
Warrior works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Warrior postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Jackson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Warrior off and has taken his back! Jackson is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Warrior defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jackson has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
