Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Medley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazuhiro Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazuhiro Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki shoots in but Medley avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Aoki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Medley 's waist but Medley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aoki off to one side.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Aoki.
John Medley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazuhiro Aoki.
Medley throws a head kick that misses.
Medley looks to land a body kick but Aoki moved away.
Aoki checks the leg kick.
Medley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Aoki was well out of range. Poor timing from Medley .
Aoki moves out of range as Medley strikes.
Aoki avoids the head kick by Medley .
Aoki uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Medley .
Aoki closes this distance looking for a takedown but Medley circles away.
Nice body kick from Medley .

Aoki wants to clinch but Medley slips to the side
and Medley makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Aoki closes the distance and clinches up with Medley , looking for a takedown. Aoki pushes Medley against the cage but Medley circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Aoki fails with an attempt to clinch.
Medley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Medley misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kazuhiro Aoki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aoki closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Aoki lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aoki looks gassed!
Medley looking for a sweep. Not yet Medley , not yet.
Aoki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Medley is working hard here to advance position.

Aoki advances to half guard.
Medley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Aoki trying to control from half guard but Medley is working away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Aoki thows a huge punch but Medley dodges it nicely.
Medley is trying to get back to full guard.
Aoki is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Medley doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Aoki.

Medley wants to get back to full guard.
Medley on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Medley tries to get out of the position.
Aoki trying to control the action but Medley is working from the bottom.
Aoki works his way into side control.
Medley tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Aoki wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Medley struggling a bit here.
Medley tries to buck Aoki off but Aoki is having none of it.
Aoki is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Medley is trying to escape and Aoki transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Medley is forced to tap! Nice work there by Aoki! Very nice indeed!
