0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lapu Lapu! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lapu misses with an attempted mid kick.
Lapu scores with a head kick. BayawaK tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Lapu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lapu misses with a head kick.

It looks like Rafael BayawaK has been cut. Lapu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. BayawaK fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lapu manages to avoid it. BayawaK misses with a takedown attempt - Lapu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Lapu throws a head kick that misses. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Lapu - that will leave a mark!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lapu blocks a jab. BayawaK fails with a takedown attempt from distance. BayawaK throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! BayawaK crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lapu - the referee stops the clock and BayawaK gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lapu. BayawaK manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lapu throws a wild body kick that BayawaK sees coming a mile off. BayawaK blocks a head kick by Lapu.

BayawaK wants the takedown. Lapu is fighting it off but BayawaK persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lapu's guard against the cage. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. BayawaK sitting in guard, not really doing much. BayawaK lands a couple of decent looking shots. BayawaK works over Lapu with some ground and pound from guard. BayawaK with a flurry of punches that miss.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rafael BayawaK just wasn't active enough. BayawaK shoots in looking for a takedown. Lapu tries to sprawl out of it but BayawaK keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lapu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rafael BayawaK. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lapu misses with a body kick. Lapu scores with a spinning back kick! Lapu scores with a head kick. BayawaK tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. BayawaK avoids the head kick by Lapu.
Lapu looks gassed! BayawaK darts in and clinches Lapu up against the cage. Lapu wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lapu wants to get back to full guard. Still in half guard, BayawaK seems content to control. BayawaK wants to pass to mount but Lapu is defending the position. BayawaK seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Lapu trying to control but BayawaK postures up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with BayawaK in particular looking to stall.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Rafael BayawaK wasn't doing enough on the ground. BayawaK avoids the head kick by Lapu.
That's five minutes gone in the round. BayawaK drives through with a takedown into guard. BayawaK trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lapu preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. BayawaK working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. BayawaK slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lapu can do anything to dispel that myth. Lapu working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from BayawaK. BayawaK stands up over Lapu, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. BayawaK advances position into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. BayawaK working the ground and pound from side control.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Lapu being controlled for a moment. BayawaK scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Lapu to see if he's OK. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. BayawaK works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. BayawaK lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. BayawaK is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Lapu will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Lapu is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. BayawaK just content to control the position. Lapu takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. BayawaK lands a nice forearm strike. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! BayawaK is chipping away with strikes.

Oh, he is hurt! BayawaK turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
