Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maxwell Hickman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mykka Hoivunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Maxwell Hickman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Mykka Hoivunen! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good standup being displayed there by Hoivunen as he connects with a hook. Hoivunen throws a head kick that misses. Hoivunen scores with a nice strike. Hoivunen plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Hickman with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hoivunen to score with a decent uppercut. Hoivunen cracks the inside of Hickman's front leg. Hoivunen lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hickman will feel that in the morning. Hoivunen smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Hickman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hoivunen can pounce on him.
Hoivunen tries a head kick but it misses.
Hickman on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Hickman fails to land the takedown. Hoivunen tries a head kick but it misses.
Hoivunen pushes Hickman away with a front kick. Hoivunen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hoivunen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hickman.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoivunen stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maxwell Hickman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hickman closes the distance and pushes Hoivunen back into the cage. Hoivunen tries to break free but Hickman pushes him back against the cage. Hickman tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Hoivunen is trying to break the clinch but Hickman has him pressed against the cage. Hoivunen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hoivunen is looking to land body kicks. Hoivunen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hickman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Hickman takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Hickman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hoivunen quickly recovers to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Hoivunen trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Hickman manages to pass to mount!
Hoivunen can't escape the position.
Hoivunen looks gassed! Hickman controlling from the full mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hickman working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Hoivunen looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Hickman! Submission of the night perhaps?
