Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boris Berezin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 21 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, I Will Lose! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lose takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Berezin listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Lose is rocked! Lose uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Berezin. Lose is still on wobbly legs! Can Berezin finish him? Berezin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lose moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Berezin throws a series of punches but Lose moves out of range. Berezin throws a right and a left that both miss. Berezin throws a lazy right hand but Lose sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Berezin misses with a two punch combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Some wild striking there from Berezin.
Berezin throws the left hand but Lose avoids the punch easily. Lose keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Berezin. Berezin throws a nice looking combination but Lose bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Lose ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Lose ducks under a wild hook from Berezin. Berezin throws a jab but it's blocked by Lose. Berezin misses with a few strikes there.
Berezin is breathing heavily. Berezin misses with a hook. Lose ducked under it nicely. Berezin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lose circles away quickly and effectively. Berezin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lose. Berezin pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Boris Berezin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Berezin misses with a looping right. Berezin throws out a loose jab but Lose uses good head movement to avoid it. Berezin throws a looping overhand right but Lose ducks down to avoid it. Lose seems to have recovered his senses. Berezin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lose. Berezin loads up on a big right hand but Lose slips the punch. Lose misses with a low kick. Lose looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Lose attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Lose throws a leg kick that is checked and Berezin counters with a three punch combo that has Lose backing up. Lose nods at Berezin to acknowledge the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lose moves away from the strike by Berezin. Lose misses with a low kick.
Lose tries a low kick but Berezin avoids it. Lose walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Berezin throws a good cross that connects.
Berezin throws a series of punches but Lose avoids them all with ease. Berezin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lose. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lose lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Berezin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Berezin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Lose bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Lose wants to slow Berezin down by chopping away at his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Good work by Berezin as he checks the leg kick. Berezin lands a nice shot that snaps Lose's head back.
Lose throws a chopping leg kick but Berezin manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Berezin throws a one two combo.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Lose has eaten all the pies! Berezin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lose does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Berezin goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Lose tries to land a leg kick but Berezin saw it coming and moves away.
Lose pivots, looking for a leg kick but Berezin is out of range and Lose settles back down. Lose looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lose showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Berezin.
Lose attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Berezin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Good work by Berezin as he checks the leg kick. Berezin is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Danga de danga de dang - Berezin scores with a four punch combination! Berezin lands a jab to the head.
Lose throws out a leg kick but Berezin moves out of range and Lose only half commits. Berezin moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Berezin lands with a shot to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Berezin misses with a few strikes there.
Berezin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Berezin checks a low kick from Lose. Lose has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Berezin finds it's way round the side to connect with Lose's head. Some wild striking there from Berezin.
Berezin is working the combinations to good effect here. Berezin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Berezin lands a nice looking body kick. Lose takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Berezin scores with a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Boris Berezin dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A clash of legs there as Berezin blocks the low kick. Berezin cracks Lose with a good jab. Berezin throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Lose's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Berezin dives in looking to finish as Lose flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Berezin's strikes! Berezin is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Lose's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Lose was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Boris Berezin!
